Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara born February 28 1948) is an American actress, singer, and children's book author. In her career, which spans over six decades she's performed in musical theatre, television , and film, performed in concert performances as a solo artist and released recordings. She is a critically acclaimed Broadway performerwho has received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, which she won three. Grammy Awards have been won by four of her Broadway album cast that she has appeared in.
Many believe Peters to be the best Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is especially well-known for her performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
